‘Botanical Dreams’
Shot in black & white, this series of plant imagery contrasts the vibrant colors that typically define plant life, encouraging a more intimate inspection of other elements that make flora striking. These photographs are representative of the time that they were shot: during a dark and quiet winter while the Covid pandemic raged around the world and many felt a sense of colorlessness. We are able to see that without color, the beauty of plant forms – their organic shapes, unique details and shadows – become more apparent, and the viewer is invited to imagine the spectrum of lush colors that would be present if looking at real life counterparts.

‘Portrait of a Woman’
A female body can portray strength & beauty, innocence and integrity, time, fear, or happiness. It is a mechanism of expression – a precious physical exhibition of emotion, experience and wellbeing. The human form and figure is not only aesthetically beautiful, but expressive of the individual that lives within it. These photographs are a portrait of a portrait – that which we exist as.
Exhibited at Studio Art College International (S.A.C.I) , Florence, Italy | May 2009
